Dollbags

A real Punk Princess classic!

I made my first Dollbag in 2021 with porcelain arms and legs and a plastic head (I still have it!!)! I thrifted the arms and legs and just decided to make it into a bag! That was a success, so I tried it with a normal plastic babydoll I found at a thriftstore. That's how the Dollbag family came to life! I've been making and selling them for years now and they are all over the world! I couldn't be more proud <3

Although this idea came to life from being inspired at the thriftstore, there is a story behind the cut-up dolls. Us girlies are being raised with dolls all around us. We get a doll as a kid, then we get a kitchen to play in and cook for the doll, then we get a firstaid kit to take care of the doll, and so on. We're being raised to make babies and to care for others. It's so normalized, but when you think about it, it's kinda fcking scary. We're so much more than just babymakers, and by cutting up the dolls, displaying them all with their unique character and reusing these now unloved dolls give me a feeling of rebelion and satisfaction that I get to choose my own path, my own self-expression and that everything is my choice.
